Our Events

From the outset, our mission has been to share the culture, heritage and world-renowned hospitality of the people of Palestine by hosting various social events. These events have given us the privilege of showcasing folkloric dance (dabkeh), traditional dress, poetry readings, time honored music, arts, crafts, as well as the tantalizing foods of Palestine.

The House of Palestine’s Board of Directors and active members proudly participate in numerous cultural events throughout the year to share and celebrate our honored culture and traditions. Every year, we are represented in December Nights, the Ethnic Food Festival, our exclusive Lawn Program, and the La Jolla Christmas Parade.

December Nights and the Ethnic Food Festival are special events at Balboa Park that attract hundreds of thousands of visitor to San Diego from around the world as well as our local community. Every year, the House of Palestine participates in these community events, along with other international groups, by selling our famous falafel sandwiches and by performing traditional Palestinian dabkeh.

At our annual Lawn Program, the House of Palestine is exclusively represented, allowing us to create our own festival-like atmosphere for our members and visitors. We celebrate, share and display our world famous embroidery, music, dabkeh, cuisine, poetry and fine arts. We are lucky to have a talented volunteer base through whom to showcase our traditions and proud culture.
