OPEN LETTER FROM HOUSE OF PALESTINE
This letter is to update you on the activities of
the House of Palestine for 2008.
We are pleased to inform you
that the House of Palestine is one of
the permanent members of the House of Pacific Relations (HPR), founded
in 1935, which comprise 32 permanent houses with 21 houses having
cottages and 11 without. Its purpose is to promote cooperation and
understanding amongst member nations. You can check HPR website at
www.hofshi.net/sdhpr
The House of Palestine is a non-political,
non-religious and non-profit organization which promotes the culture,
tradition, food and awareness of the Palestinian people to all members
of the House of Pacific Relations. Also the House of Palestine has
acquired the status of a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization which
allows donations by members and other donors to be tax deductible.
Donations and funds raised through activities will help promote
Palestinian culture and serve in the building of a Palestinian Cottage
which is our ultimate purpose. You can view our web site at
www.houseofpalestine.org
Our annual activities in Balboa Park are the Ethnic
Food Fair on May 25, the Lawn Program on August 17 and the December
Nights on December 5 and 6, 2008, when the House of Palestine can sell
its traditional food like falafel, humos and mujaddara.
Throughout the year we also have open houses in the
Hall of Nations where traditional clothing, artifacts and pictures made
in Palestine are on exhibit.
The House of Palestine is striving hard to form a
Dabkeh Group and we solicit our members to support this activity by
either teaching or participating in Dabkeh
dancing. This will help enormously our annual Lawn Program.
Finally, The House of Palestine need the help of
its members in participating in all its activities at Balboa Park, in
financial donations as well as extending ideas and help in getting new
people join our organization.
Please fill out your renewal form and tell
everybody you know about the House of Palestine.
